We will continue to FIX THE DAMN ROADS.
We helped secure $16m from the federal government for Snowy Monaro roads, and we will make sure this is spent wisely and equitably.
We will maintain our lobbying to Labor State and Federal members for extra support.
Clear Communication: Expect improved transparency and scheduling for rural road upkeep.

Our Candidates
Tanya Higgins
As the current Deputy Mayor and a Michelago resident, Tanya Higgins brings a wealth of experience in public policy and community advocacy to her role. With a background in public policy and a deep commitment to community service—evidenced by her roles as a mother of five, a foster carer, and an advocate for local issues—Tanya is dedicated to enhancing engagement between the Council and the community. She is a passionate supporter of increased housing developments, road funding, and equitable distribution of services.
Lynda Summers
Lynda Summers, a current Councillor and Audit Risk & Improvement Committee Representative, combines her extensive background in financial management, health governance, & rural engagement with her business acumen as a former CEO. With an MBA and a strong commitment to environmental protection, Lynda advocates for pragmatic decision-making, bringing road maintenance back ‘in house’, and prioritising worker health and safety. Her focus includes climate change, renewable energy, and biosecurity.
Bill Walker
A lifelong resident of Cooma and active community member, Bill Walker has been deeply involved in local organizations such as Climate Action Monaro and the Altitude EV car club. His commitment to environmental advocacy, particularly in the transition to renewable energy, is matched by his dedication to community and social services. Bill aims to work closely with Labor colleagues at all levels of government to ensure inclusive access to services and affordable housing for all residents.
Anthony Garvin
Cooma resident Anthony Garvin brings a diverse background in small business management, renewable energy consultancy, and community safety to the table. His experience as a respite foster carer and SES training coordinator underscores his dedication to problem-solving and economic development. Anthony is focused on innovative solutions for energy efficiency, community safety, and affordable outdoor tourism, aiming to enhance both economic and environmental sustainability.
Penny Judge
With 48 years of residency in Delegate and over 40 years as a teacher, Penny Judge is deeply invested in the community and its needs. A strong advocate for the arts and a former president of the Delegate Progress Association, Penny emphasises support for small and isolated communities, arts education, and volunteering. Her focus includes improving services for older residents in remote areas and supporting community-driven projects like the Bundian Way.
Kylie Philips
Raised in Cooma and now residing in Jindabyne, Kylie Philips combines her experience as a registered nurse, TAFE teacher, and ski instructor with a commitment to community service. Her extensive background includes 18 years at Cooma Hospital and running a first aid training business. Kylie is passionate about maintaining local services, improving roads and public transport, and enhancing communication and engagement between the Council and the community.
